    New Look For Google Search?
Is it just me or is the Google search results page way different? Has it changed and I'm only now noticing? It has 3 columns. The left is a big Google menu. I got there by using the Groowe tool bar search in Firefox.

If I go in through IE and iGoogle it gives the old results when I search.

There is a little button where I can click "show options" and it will open another column. I keep it closed. I think (not sure at the moment) that it does not show if I am not signed in.

Edited: lol, I couldn't stand it and had to go sign out. Yes it does show. Do you see the option button?

I noticed this last week sometime but wasn't significant enough to me to even notice if it was a new thing.
I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Bud Lite than Kay.

Don't see the "show options" button. Here is a screen shot. I couldn't get this look on a friends PC this morning.

I'm not seeing anything like that yet - still plain ol' Google. But, ya never know where, or when, things will change with the Big G.

BTW - using FF on a Mac.

Oops...just went back for another look. I do see the Show (or Hide) Options button - in both FF and Safari. Wonder how long that's been there...

Here's a screenshot of my search with the options open. See the button near the top that says "hide options"?

They must be working on it as the day goes on. They now have an images link showing near top left. I don't see any way to close the left column either.

Now there are more additions to the left column links, and the blue color in the results seems bolder. The one thing for sure is that the adwords column sure gets a lot more space. I'm thinking this has something to do with the upcoming caffeine update.

And now site:example.com doesn't return the number of results found. But doing a regular search does. They are still playing with it.

Yesterday for the first time that I've ever seen, G had a Captcha thingy and their submit button read: "I'm Human!"
..seemed very strange to me. It popped up when I visited more than one result site, but not in rapid succession. There was some message about protecting other users??? Weird.

209.85.225.103 is pointing to the Caffeine data center atleast 50% of the time.
That's from a thread at WMW and attributed to Matt Cutts. I see the new look there, and wonder if others see it.

Thanks for the link Patrick. I thought I was the only one seeing the new stuff from the responses here.

Speaking of differences, I generally use Chrome but check sites in other browsers.

Today I noticed that when using Firefox, there are no ads above the top ten search results (they do show in IE). Is Firefox preventing these ads from showing or is Google?

I don't think it's Firefox. I tried "snow skis" on 209.85.225.103 and didn't see the top ads. I refreshed twice and there they where.
