    ABW --

Sales have been pretty strong this year, all until April 5th rolled around, which they took a dip.

I'm assuming that tax time has gotten people pinching pennies, and that it should let up by the end of the month when refund dollars start coming in.

How has tax time affected your sales?

I really hope you're right!! Sales have been pretty low lately. I attribute that mostly to Google and the changes they're making. I really hope Yahoo starts picking me up soon!

Sales have been HALF for us over the last two days. Last week was down 30%. I have to assume the drop has been because of tax time, because we've never seen anything like it...

welcome to the club, folks. I had another problem to contend with along with the Easter holiday and Tax Day. had to move a popular site over to permanent hosting with redirect pages (5 seconds delay) and that cost me a percentage also. I was feeling worse about the lower amount of hits until I realized the double whammy you all are seeing.

It'll get better after a payday or two.

I have to say that after a record-breaking February and a near-record March, April has been a resounding disappointment. At this pace, it will rank 5 of the 8 months of the fiscal year.

    Andrew,

In the 5 years I've been selling online, I've seen the drop in sales this time of year. I've always contributed it to tax time. Also Easter did fall into the tax "bracket" time.

Actually, this year was less of an impact than previous years. Before I would start seeing the decline during the last 2 weeks of March until April 16th. Come the 16th, it was like folks got back to business. Looks like maybe more people filed early this year or something. Maybe more folks were getting refunds. I didn't see the drop off until we were into April.

I'm seeing a drop off, too. Never thought about it - but it does make sense for tax time to have an impact. I also had a near record March - much to my surprise. Really, April is more a return to normal from whatever happend this winter when sales were beyond good.

And with the onset of warmer weather and summer, I do look for a traffic and sales slowdown - although my site caters primarily to summer oriented people - so the impact is not likely to be huge (I had a solid summer last year).

No sales drop here, but I my traffic is only 1/3 of what it was last month. Either my server logs have gone wacky or I'm losing my mind. Maybe both?
