I would like to provide a free adware/spyware scan to my visitors. I've done a search and checked out several but I can't help but feel there is a "catch" to some of the free ones. Any suggestions on good ones to put up?

    Thanks,
    Kip

Check the free parasite script at doxdesk.com. Installed on your pages, it will scan each visitor (using IE) for a wide range of viruses. Put it on each page where a visitor might enter your site.

No catch to it. The author participates here on occasion and alot of us owe him thanks for the work he's done.

Fantastic. I've put the information on ad-aware and doxdesk on my site.

    Thanks,

    Kip,

Do you want to suggest scanning software that visitors might install and run on their computers or software that runs on your site and scans the visitors; browser? (Or both?) I believe ad-aware is the former, as is Spybot S&D which I run on my own computers. The doxdesk.com script is to be loaded on your website server and called be the webpage as a visitor opens it.

Both actually. I have the doxdesk so they can see if they have anything bad and if they do I suggest ad-aware so they can get rid of whatever is found.

    Thanks,
    Kip
