    Now that the media has announced the birth of A9, will it help, hurt or create more confusion?

    Spyware. Use it to feed Amazon's database about yourself.

    The best Audis start with an R or S.

    My wish list includes the S6 Avant. In black please.

    A9 = good.

    It would take ages to get between Perth and Inverness without it.

    I'm fairly sure that the highway name will be changed before the case goes to trial. Much like that river formerly known as Amazon.

    I do agree that this is completely fueled by Amazon's desire to make more money, but it is pretty cool. I found that one of my websites was published in a book through this tool, never would have known otherwise. It was one of those internet for dummies books. Now I just need to be on TV

    The idea of integrating a major search engine directly with a store might have some long term impact on affiliates. A great deal of affiliate sales happen simply because people stumble through our sites on the way to the merchant.

    Overall, A9 looks like a nice search engine. It will be good to have some more competition in the search engine market.

    Their competiton in the SE market I don't need. It'll be way too easy for them to just assign Amazon.com a #1 for anything they want to rank under. Which, judging by what I see for sale at Amazon.com, will be darned near everything...

    Actually I've been using it a lot on my PC at work that doesn't have a search toolbar, because you can just type:

    a9.com/whatever you want to find

    in the address bar which is pretty neat.

    I haven't bothered signing in.. I don't particularly want to have it crossreference with my Amazon purchases.

    A nice thing is that it's a family-friendly SE with pretty good results.

    A9 and Google's new email are no more problematic than CJ and the other networks (which 'trusted' services like Norton and adaware try to block).
