    Goals For Next Year?
The new year is rapidly approaching and I've been thinking about my goals for next year a lot. I think most people do something of this nature every year (mostly in the form of new years resolutions) but how many of you actually take the time to sit down and write you your goals for the coming year?

One of my main goals for the coming year is to create enough income to be able to take my family to Hawaii for Christmas next year...

What are your goals? New sites? New products? Income? Freedom from work?
    More time with family? Vacations?

    Let's hear it!

I'm looking to finalize my transition from affiliate to merchant. And I'm pretty excited about it.

I also want to master CSS and start learning more about .NET.

Lastly, I owe it to Matt McWilliams to learn piano.

    Well I aim to

    1. Get the TISI import licenses cleared up so I can avoid any more harrassment from the Thai customs for importing board games.

    2. Save up to go on holiday to either India or Indonesia with my family

    3. Get my US Visa issue resolved!

My top 3 goals would have to be:

    1. Take my kids on a fun vacation (probably Disney World or something similar).
    2. Build up another website for additional income.
    3. Pay off all my credit card bills - and be able to buy my car (in full) once the lease is up in October.

    I agree with this article:

New year's resolutions doomed to failure, say psychologists
It's part of the new year ritual an annual attempt to start afresh and turn over a new leaf. But making resolutions is a near pointless exercise, psychologists say. We break them, become dispirited in the process and finally more despondent than we were before.

Hmmm...lots of goals, both personal and business related. I s'pose the business ones should go in this thread.

    1. Continue growing GirlyChecks.com into a [very] popular affiliate marketing site.
    2. Expand our Checks Business to include a business-checks-specific affiliate site.
    3. Continue the growth of our "other, older" businesses: Travel (primarily hotels) and sales of a variety of products (as affiliates, ourselves).
    4. Buy a new airplane to use in the "travel" portion of our business. (Well, this one may also end up on the list of "personal' goals. )

Well, my default goal for each new year is "Make more money at affiliate marketing than I did last year." LOL. I'll have to sit down and make some more specific goals...
-Don't criticize anyone til you've walked a mile in their shoes. Then when you do criticize them, you'll be a mile away and have their shoes.
    - Silence is golden. Duct Tape is silver.

Rhia7, it's when people make unrealistic goals that they get depressed over not being able to achieve them.

I saw a tweet from Chris Brogan (I think it was him ) that said he was choosing three words to summarize what he wants to accomplish each year.

    My three words would be:
    Prosper
    Teach
    Learn

    (not necessarily in that order)

My goal for this year is to make enough money each day, such that:

(~lowest earnings in a day) x 365 days = minimum living expenses for a year

The peaks and valleys of retail really freak me out. I want to reach the point where the peaks are nice, but not necessary!
Merchants, any data you provide to Google Shopping should also be in your affiliate network datafeed. More data means more sales!
