Everyday Stuff of 2000 that is Obsolete in 2010 ???
I'm thinking Land Lines are #1 for me.....

NOT obsolete yet, but it won't be long....

In 2000, I was prolly spending $1500 or more per business line w/ long distance.

    Now I spend under $100.

    Personal lines are $19.95 / year -

    Tons of other stuff ......

Dial-up modems! My 9 year old nephew and 6 year old niece have no idea what they sound like. LOL.

Gave them up years ago, email PDFs instead or use free efax services for the 1-2 faxes a year I actually have to send.

lol jason, some of us still hate typing on our phones but texting is a fast way to get to someone without bothering them with a call when you just have a quick question.

RMG - a lot of the country still only has dial up believe it or not. It isn't obsolete yet and won't be anytime soon

Going back about 20 year rather than 10 years is even more telling.. in the days before the web, you really did have to rely on encyclopaedias, library file cards, microfiches, printed newspaper indexes (like the Times Index), telephone directory enquiries, dictionaries and the like. If you were very high tech you could perhaps use a BBS or Usenet to help find information, or find files with Archie and then download them to your PC with Kermit.

    lol

I am still on Dialup!!!!!!!!! So, land lines will still be around for quite a while.
I threw away about 20 floppy discs just the other day while doing some decluttering....I didn't even check to see what was on them.....

I'd like to see my mailbox go away so I don't have to fight with the county every winter after the snow plows beat the crap out of it.

Texting will neeeeever replace voice calls, brother. Ain't gonna happen. Business isn't done via text message. Too limited, and no accounting for nuance, mood, or inflection.

Started to drift off for a while there, but landlines are here to stay. If not offered along with cable/fios, it might be a different story.

Thinking back to 2000.... I didn't even have an internet connection until 2001 lol.

Hey I'm not a big hockey guy but I gotta stick up for Detroit here. Practically their whole team is injured.

Now the Pistons...that is a team that is obsolete now. And the Lions just never were .

Come on David. They Lions have won 4 championships. Just because they haven't won one since 1957 doesn't take away from that. They're just suffering from "The Curse of Bobby Layne".
