Baltimore was 18 degrees when I got up this morning AND the wind was sounding like a freight train as it was (still is) roaring through the park across the street.

On the "bright side" - there are only 76 days left until Spring!

Classic good news-bad news. We're about to head off to Yosemite for a week in an hour or so, and while I'm glad for good driving weather and no problems with the Grapevine being treacherous or closed as happens this time of year, we had hoped for snow in Yosemite, and that doesn't look too likely.

    It's c-c-c-c-cold outside!
When I open my back door to let my dogs outside I immediately think of a song I teach my Kindergartners for our holiday show at school every year...

    It's c-c-c-c-cold outside.
    I'm f-f-f-f-freezing.
    My nose is getting runny.
    I hope I don't start sneezing.
    My t-t-t-t-tootsies
    Are F-R-O-Z-E-N

And they are!!! It' is COLD! 22 with a windchill of 5. Ahhh! And Dad (Bill/Beachy) was right about the wind sounding like a freight train in the park across the street. It's crazy! Simply bitter outside. I want to go "back to Cali, Cali, Cali" (More song lyrics, in case you didn't know. :P )

It's below freezing here, with snow flurries and supposed to get WORSE. I'm going to have to find a warmer climate.

    Warming up a bit here:
Today: Scattered snow showers, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. West wind between 14 and 16 mph
There are only 75 days left until SPRING. We have already endured two full weeks of winter - only 10 1/2 weeks to go.

It's a chilly 62 out here in Taipei, but we're taking a little side-trip to the Philippines in a few days where we have to deal with 80+ degrees and white sandy beaches. Just hope it's not too hot or we'll have to go snorkeling every day.

Gonna dip down to 22 here in the Arctic Tundra of Katy, Texas over the next few days.

All of my plants were killed in that 5 hour snow storm we had in Decenber, so No Worries.

I'm up to send my oldest grand stinker to school in layers of warm fuzzies. -

Dang, Jimmy. that is way-out-of-the-ordinary-cold for where you live. Do have enough warm fuzzies???

The last time I spent any time in Texas was many (very many) moons ago during Christmas Holidays. We were in Dallas and I remember playing golf in shirt sleeves on Christmas Day. (To give you an idea just how long ago that was...when we went in to pay the greens fees the guy in the pro-shop said, "No charge today, fellows, Merry Christmas.")

    It's a perfect 72 year-round where I am. (In my house.)

But if I go outside... It's in the upper 20s here near Fort Worth, and we're not supposed to get back above freezing until Saturday afternoon. I think that's about the longest period we've had below freezing for quite a while.

Sheesh guys.. are you not using the metric system yet?

Or you do it the British way, use Celsius for cold temperatures, Fahrenheit for hot temperatures.

So.. if it's really cold (as it has been in some parts) we say that it's minus 19! But on a hot day in the summer, we switch to Fahrenheit so that the newspapers can print stuff like "80 degrees, phew what a scorcher!"
