Can anyone tell me for sure if jewelry shipped from the US to CAN falls under NAFTA and is therefore duty free?

    Thanks!

Could we please split this question off into another thread?

NAFTA regulations are centered around country of origin. So, if the item was made in China but shipped from an American merchant to Canada then the receiver would be responsible for the import duties as if the item was shipped from China. I have had jewelry shipped from the US and shipping was free. There were no duty fees because the shipper marked the package as being under $60 (it was costume jewelry).

Thanks everyone who has responded to this thread so far...

    Thanks, CanadianDave.

Well, that's a mess...as if the merchants put on their websites/data feeds where the products were made. Ugh.

Yes, some of us have been asking merchants to include this information in their feeds for some time now but considering how many feeds have basic problems like no categories or garbage characters, I am not holding my breath waiting to see country of origin field any time soon!
