... then how much do the top two percent make?

Heck, what's the estimate on the one percenters, three percenters, etc.?

I read that the top two percent earn 98% of the affiliate income. I'm curious as to how much money this actually is and where I fit in.

I think that $100 number is quite obsolete. That figure was calculated about 3 years ago, as I recall. But last time someone posted that they'd hit the 5 Bars, I remember it being a figure of a few hundred (not just one hundred).

That said, I'd like to know what = top 1% and 2%, too.

I think that the top 5% number is closer to $100/Day.

I haven't hit the five bars yet. Is that how they measure it? Like five bars represents top 5%, four bars is top 20 percent, etc?

I remember it was easy to jump from 2 bars to four. Five has been elusive.

CDC

Considering how many people sign up and how few do anything with it, I would say the 5% threshold is still a relatively low number.

i too used to be 5 bars, but am now relegated to 4!! and i get alot more than a few $100's a month!

even though i earn alot more now,
i assume its all the parasite and unethical sites that are now at the top 5%

I don't think that you have to be unethical or a parasite to be in the top 5%.
I do not use commission junction as much as I could be using them. I spread my earnings over a lot of different areas. However, if I devoted all of my sites to commission junction, I am sure I could easily be in the top 5%.
I have been on 4 bars before with less than $1,000 per month.

I'm sure there are parasite/unethical sites in the top 5% but most in the top 5% are ethical.

As was explained to me by a CJ official, the bars represent a percentile. If 5 bars represent 95 percentile and you have five bars, it simple means that you have earned more than 95% of all those afffiliates participating. The qualifying earned commissions can vary by number of affiliates participating and what they earn. Consider that a large number of affiliates do not earn a commission check each month.

A couple of years ago I moved up and down between 4 and 5, and the dividing line then was around $300 a month. I've been far above that lately, but I can't get back into the 5s.

I think CJ eliminated a lot of non-performing affiliates over the past year or so. Gordon could probably say more precisely if he just dropped from 5 to 4, but I think the threshold between 4 bars and 5 bars on CJ is somewhere around $1000 per month right now.
