Hey shouldn't this remain on CJ forum? I related it to it by talking about CJ merchant banners inside Adsense spots...

PD. I am able to do this comment just because I am in mid-night forum

has anyone seen a live example yet? I use only certain shapes so it may be a while before they sell something to fit my spaces.

I have seen them and it seems google just became a pay per click banner ad company.
This is the best thing since sliced bread for me(i hope)

now, I know there were good reasons for networks to eschew the ppc model at the time, and I remember when CJ tossed the model out and made a very big deal out of it, but now that google adsense has apparently figured out how to keep fraud to a minimum I wonder if ppc is going to gradually creep back into places like LS and CJ?

that is, assuming they want to make the investment in programming and common sense.

I guess my first thought is that I don't want banner type ads on my pages. My busiest site is a content site and I haven't had much success at all with banner ads. Adsense works great in my site. But then I read...

quote:
Image ads will show in rotation with text ads. On a page by page basis, Google's technology determines whether text ads or image ads are likely to make you more money, and serves the best ads to your page.

and I think that is very interesting. Certainly gives me an opportunity to analyze more data...

I agree with nyfalcon on this one. Network banner ads have notoriously failed on my content sites, largely due to the types of ads available. My sites don't get enough traffic to get the really juicy banner ads that big networks have available, but I'm hoping, through Adsense, that I'll finally get some decent ones.

Now my quandary is, whether I should change ad layouts to take advantage of this new feature.

I still think that image ads will have less CTR than text ads. I'm reluctant at this point. But, Google says this may earn me more money, which will make me try it out.
