    Question Question-I need advice
Hi guys, I need advice from you: basically I was thinking of opening forum on my page , and I want it to be Signatures dofollow only forum, where people can come, register and leave their html signature without any problem. Now, my question is - can this harm my page or my future rank?

We switched off signatures after we were not able to handle huge number of spammers in our own forum.
Even with captcha we had about 20 new spam users in our forum per day (somobody used retyping service for retyping of captcha images during registration)

In case you want to allow signatures, you should approve them manually, otherwise you will have full forum of links to porno sites

Back to you question: Yes, if from your domain is pointing a lot of links to "bad" domains, google can penalize your domain

So you are suggesting that I do it but that I control the posts before I alow them to have a signature or do follow html text allowed in it?

You can start with signatures, which contains also links, but keep an eye on links. In case you will see high number of spammers trying to inject their links into signatures, you can try to switch off links in signatures as first step and later even disable signatures.

Personally I don't like signatures, because they contain information, which is not relevant to thread and just fills your forum with thousands of outgoing links.

Hm...You gave me a reason to think over this...I also have an option to make signature allowed to older members, so I may also consider of allowing signature to the people who posted a certain number of relevant posts....anyway, thank you so so much for an advice, I really appreciate it!

This is a pretty good route to take, although it may create some junk posts as folks try to get their count up so they can get their sigs.

Just do it as ABESTWEB teaches you, a threshold of 200 posts. Spammers will not so patient to reach so many posts. They only want easy-to-enter forum to spam, so do set up some rules and restrictions.

Yep, for our size we get surprisingly few spammers. Part of that is that we have many hurdles built in. Another big part, though, is that we have excellent moderators and the average life of a spam post here is measured in minutes. It's just an exercise in futility to try to spam here, so many would-be spammers don't even try.
