February 15th, 2010, 08:39 PM #1Wordpress 2.9.2 released
The release fixes a bug that allows users that are logged in to see trashed posts of other users. If you don't have anyone other than you logging in, probably not a rush to upgrade.

I upgraded two of my WordPress sites two days ago and am waiting to see how it goes. It's working fine with all my plugins thus far. I will wait a week and if everything is fine I'll upgrade my other WP sites as well.

Ya 2.9.1 and 2.9.2 are very stable.
Might as well upgrade and wait for the 3.0 madness/goodness in supposedly 2 months.

You can be sure that I will not be one of the first to upgrade to another new version.
I like to stand back and observe, then jump in only when everything looks fine
March 23rd, 2010, 07:00 AM #7I've had problems!
I've got an issue with the upgrade on five of my wordpress sites. I get a message that says that my 'server response is empty', yet when I go into the site, it tells me it has upgraded. Yet I'm reminded each time I log in that I still need to upgrade. One of the sites I don't really use so I tried to uninstall wordpress but I couldn't and was given the same error message. The sites appear to be working normally so I'm flummoxed!

Just a few things to consider:
1. Back up your blog. Search for and install wp-db-backup - it does it automatically and sends it to your email. Also, some hosts (like hostgator) will keep a backup copy on another sever. The only time I ever lost a blog however was when I accidentally deleted it, but I suppose a hacker could wipe it out as well.
2. If after updating, you have a blank screen, it could be due to an out of date plug in interfering. To test this, remove plugins, one at a time, via an FTP program. So make sure you have ftp access via some program like cuteftp or core ftp (free!). This happened to me and hgator support fixed it in this manner. This World is Not My Home
