Does Hiding the destination URL in the Window status bar at the bottom of the browser have an effect on SEO in any way?? I am developing a new site and plan on doing this for cosmetic reasons only, but not at the cost of lowering the site ranking.

    Thanks,
    Doug

I doubt it will have any effect on your rankings, but it is extra code the SE's have to chew through.

As a visitor to websites, I personally find changing the message/url in the status bar very irritating. Perhaps think twice about doing it as there are many people out there like me who do not like it!

Hmmm? I actully like to see where I am going as well being the computer nerd that I am, but I am thinking about what shoppers would think. That would be a good poll question. You know how to set that up.
    Thanks,
    Doug

Yeah, I would not imagine it would have much of an effect on GPR. And I do tend to agree that it makes for a better visitor GUI.

Now, I have heard rumors that if you redirect it instead, you actually do no leak GPR. You should verify that however.

Good question Doug, I was wondering if that strategy would work to help my affiliates and SEO as well. But am doing more research on this before I make any sugessions.

BTW, I am from DE originally too. I bet there aren't many of US here.
