    The Return of Pepperjam
Over the next few days, you'll see Pepperjam employees returning to the forums. They had all been banned previously, but I see some value in having them here to answer questions and address issues.

Banned? What the heck? Granted, PJ isn't the most popular outfit in this 'hood, but the member base here were left to think that the PJ folks simply didn't bother to respond to concerns and issues that were posted about here, when in fact they were not even allowed to?

Shareasale lets merchants who have unpaid transactions dating back as far as 2003 continue stay live on SAS and continue to derive profit from affiliate traffic, even after this was brought to the attention of SAS out in the open here and it got swept under the carpet. Why not ban Shareasale?

There's no need dwelling on the past. Let's move forward and do what we can to encourage all networks (and AMs and OPMs and affiliates) to be the best they can be.

    Why not ban Shareasale?
An interesting question. I think the answer actually is letting Pepperjam be here again. I have a pretty good idea why they were removed previously, and it went beyond their business practices, and leaned more towards an issue between Kris and a lot of folks here.

Also, I suspect you're being a bit tongue in cheek, but perhaps not.

Anytime we prohibit a group from participating here, it ends all conversation that's meaningful. Granted, there are some affiliate models that likely will never be allowed to participate here on that level (you know the types I mean... not gray area stuff... well into the other side).

I think ABW needs to give networks, affiliates, and merchants enough rope to either lasso good relationships or hang themselves. If we don't give them rope, they can't do either.

Good news. You can't move forward when one part of the conversation cant take part in the dialogue.

I agree it's time to move forward, but really had no idea they were banned. Nor do I have an interest in details after the fact.

I'm just a little disappointed this information wasn't passed on to members.

I'm an independent affiliate, with no professional connections other than the stores/networks I deal with. I look to this forum for open dialogue (good or bad) and to stay on top of industry issues.

Let's hope this stays professional - I have no interest in personal bickering, that's not why I'm here.

For anyone that missed it, this was the thread that resulted in their ban:

    http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=112014

Their ban was disclosed in the thread. Nobody was trying to hide it.

I think it's been enough time to give them another chance. Perhaps this time around we can discuss things a little more rationally.

I saw today that pepperjam's ceo is doing some free affiliate marketing classes in an upcoming convention (think it was SES NY 2010 in March). Probably good timing since I think they were intro classes to affiliate marketing. May be some newcomers to the forums as a result.

I'm like the rest -- let bygones be bygones and move forward.

Wow, so defensive that conversation got. You really have to watch what you say. You are not only representing yourself but your company. That just gave me a bad taste about Pepperjam Network. I had similar problems with another network doing crap like that and I lost a lot of commission because of it.

ABW, way to set things aside and give them another chance.

PJ looked after me very well when eBay abandoned CJ.

    Then eBay abandoned PJ.

Hey Everyone- We are happy to be back! Thanks to ABW, and Michael specifically, for giving us another chance. We're excited about again having a presence on ABW and having open dialogs with all members.

To those those that might have shied away from PJN in the past, we hope you'll give us another chance too. Since we were banned in late 2008, we've grown a lot and hope that this maturity shows.

    Thanks again!

This thread is two years old.. and the ban was way before that.

    No point re-hashing old issues..

Added: Publishers make their own decisions about networks & merchants they want to work with, I have a number of PJ merchants on my site.

Things have changed, the company has been sold, Kris Jones is no longer involved. If there are PJ people who are interested in becoming part of ABW, feel free to email me.
