Big Flaw In Link Subscriptions (OrangeLinks)
This morning GAN tried to send my Link Subscription to my ftp.example.com and it timed out. That was my one shot for these coupons in an automated fashion. Now if I would want them it would mean a tedious sifting through the GAN interface.

GAN is the only network that I use where links via ftp or other automated means is a one shot deal. It's now or never. When there missed you have to hunt them down one by one.

Another problem with this set up is on signing up with merchants there is no way to easily grab their coupons. Any coupons they have issued prior to your sign up are not available via the Link Subscription and if you have some kind of server hiccup when they are sent to bad.

The little guys SAS and AvantLink are way ahead of GAN on this. You can get all their coupons in an automated format when you sign up for a new merchant. If you have a server hiccup you can pull them anytime.

If you go to Links > Newest > All/Approved advertisers

There is a download link in the upper right hand portion of the page.

    ----
Shows the latest / 7 Day promos ..

I think this is exactly the same data sent thru the Orange Links thing ..

    ----

I also agree on the lack of options for getting coupon data .. its very limited.. I hope they are working on this in the background ...

Magi, I tried as you suggested and do get the links but in an entirely different format than the Link Subscription. You would have to set up a new script to run that and since it covers the last seven days only it's less than ideal. With the power of Google behind it I know they should be able to offer what the little networks offer.

This is one of the main reasons I don't try to promote GAN merchants, it is impossible to get the links you want when you want them...other than spending an hour picking through the interface.
