    Daylight Savings
Daylight Savings begins this weekend. It seems very early, but I always like it. It gives you more time to play outside.

Wow - this is very early! Thanks for the reminder. I, too, love that it will be a longer daylight savings. :-)

Oh! We don't turn the clocks back in Germany until March 28...weird eh? I wonder why this isn't a concerted worldwide effort, it's not like it's hard to find a common date...

No, it isn't hard to find a common date. What's hard is to coordinate, I guess....

Isn't the early change a USA thing? It used to be the same date in most countries.

The USA changed the date a few years ago.

March 28th here in England. It is always the last sunday in March here.

I'd rather just see it eliminated. I waste probably 15 minutes, twice a year, changing all of our clocks that don't change automatically.

I didn't knew you was soo lazy!

C'mon! You can't afford to waste just 0.08 seconds a day, in order to be on time?

It's about time for the change. I've noticed the discontinuity between the light in my bedroom in the morning and the time on my clock.

I don't see there being that much benefit. Just drop Daylight Savings already.

If you worked outside in the Texas heat in July, you'd love that extra hour in the evening to unwind outside w/ the BBQ pit while it's a little cooler. -

Au contraire, mes amis. Daylight Savings Time should be year-'round.

(In 2007 US law was changed moving the start up from April to March and extending it from October into November.)

When your day isn't ruled by the clock Daylight Savings time is inconsequential... it's a left over from long ago and can be done with, IMO. It messes everyone's internal clock for a week or two, mostly those that have to live by the alarm clock.

Speaking of Texas BBQ, I had an amazing pulled pork sandwich the other day. It was brilliant!

I agree. It's clearly arbitrary since we seem to move it around. And some states don't even adhere to it, like Arizona and Hawaii. None of the territories do either, like the Virgin Islands, Guam, Puerto Rico, or American Samoa.

OK, stupid question time - if they did away w/ Daylight Savings, would the time be like it is now, or would it be like next week?
