March 12th, 2010, 03:06 PM #1Error 500 - Internal server error
Does anyone else get these while using Wordpress, and possibly know what might be causing it?
I use 1&1 and don't get any error logs, so I'm stumped on that. I get the message rather inconsistently and on different tasks, like when I try to export posts is one example.
Thoughts? I attached a pic, not that it might help.

I used to get them all the time and asked my host about them.
They said that it must be my plugins or that I had too many processes running that it caused the error.
I deleted quite a few because of it and also they were slowing down my site. I had too many plugins on my site that I didn't needed.
The problem went away.

An error 500 means that something has gone wrong with the server but the server can not determine what the exact problem is. So it can be anything. It is a server-side error and it should be up to the hosting server to diagnose the problem.
