I'm sure this thread will get moved to a more appropriate place than the AffiliateVoice section

You probably want to hear from other merchants and affiliate managers, but allow me, as an affiliate to offer the one piece of indispensable advice that you can't afford to ignore:

LISTEN TO THE ADVICE YOU'RE GIVEN.

I can't stress that enough, going by what's been happening in the other thread. You MUST start to accept the advice you're given here and act on it.

affiliate networks, CPS preferred. Think twice before you begin In-house affiliate program unless you are a big enough one.

I didn't build an affiliate program.

I built quality, content driven websites and monetized them with merchants that would benefit from my 2200 pages of content over the last 13 years.

I don't do AM like the pros around here.

I am more of an Indy Guy.

I find merchants with no AM program and have them do fullfillment for me.

Several of my merchants are now on SAS, LS, CJ etc., but they still let me send them traffic and pay me at least double what they would if I used those other programs.

If I were you Steve, I would throw the affiliate program out there.

Get some input from real AM's.

LISTEN TO THAT INPUT without taking things personally.

If you EARN a little respect from folks here, your program could explode with new affiliates willing to give a new program a chance.

The best affiliate programs in the world could be sabotaged by a bad affiliate manager, un-willing to listen to advice and make changes as necessary.

    Good Luck Bro....

I think you'll do well if you THANK people for their advice and implement some of it.

I need some help. I need someone to critique my affiliate sign up process and give me their oppinion. You can sign up with fictictious credentials and I will delete it later, or who knows you might want to sign up for real.

Please give my your feedback. Your advise will be greatly appreciated!

My advice is listen to what your affiliates are telling you and asking of you. I've never had any problems with OAMs but for some reason many in house managers for big merchants seem to ignore affilates for one reason or another, most likely b'c they are the smaller players.

You see, affilates want to do well and are willing to work very hard for the right managers, but it takes some level of relationship between manager and affiliate, so when a manager ignores the affiliate, that's when the affiliate drives his traffic to the merchants who will help them perform.

You mentioned in another thread you have already had a lot of interest in your program (I assume you mean affiliates have signed up). Rather than have false people sign up just for a critique, go ask those new affiliates if there were any areas you need to improve in your sign up process. It does two things. One, you get the information you requested. Two, you just made a person contact with your affiliates, something a lot of merchants fail to do.
