March 17th, 2010, 07:19 PM #1S E X is bankrupt, er...the owner of S*X.com, that is
About 20 minutes ago I received this in an email from Sedo:
...press release below:
Involuntary Chapter 11 Petition Filed Against Escom, LLC - Owner of the Sex.com Domain Name
Woodland Hills, California - Creditors of Escom, LLC ("Escom") today filed an involuntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition against Escom in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California (San Fernando Valley Division).
Petitioners took this action to protect their interests and to maximize value for all other creditors and equity holders. The filing will stay the public auction foreclosure proceedings previously scheduled for March 18, 2010, which petitioners believe would have diminished the value of Escom's assets.

One interesting (to me, anyway) thing is that the law firm claims to have specialists in technology and intellectual property litigation. YET - their website is hosted on one of those free-site thingies at Register.com - in a frame with a banner ad at the bottom of the page.

Maker's Mark - not today. Today/this evening - could be (should be) Jameson's or Red Breast or Middleton's (but I can't afford that stuff). Happy St. Patrick's Day, guys. I'll lift one for ya.

OK, this is interesting.
The law firm site I looked at is meisterseelig dot com, which is what I was discussing. msf-law dot com is a separate site, and is as you described, and has different whois info. BUT the content of the sites appears to be identical.
Maybe they've been hitting the Maker's Mark, or the Jameson's.

The good thing for the guy who owns it is that even if he is bankrupt, he's owns an asset which he'll likely be able to sell for quite a lot and probably retire on.50% Recurring Commission on SAS! -- Up To $98.50 Per Sale, Per Month!
