    I got $4400 from clickbank, but I don't know what I referred
    Hi

I have small problem... I got from clickbank check (about $4400)

I remember, that in the past I registered in clickbank and maybe I put some affiliate links somewhere, but I have no clue where and what I promoted. ... it was really long time ago and I didn't cared about it anymore.

Is possible to track in clickbank which products were sold through my affiliate link ?

I can see, that through my affiliate link are promoted mainly 2 vendors, but I can't find more details about those vendors.

It would be interesting to know for me, for what I'm receiving so huge commissions time to time

    thx. for help.

    Viktor

Are you able to check your web stats to see what drove the traffic?

Maybe someone scraped your site and your code was embedded.

Or you could try searching for your hoplink if it was not encrypted.

    I should have such problems.

thx. for pointer with scraping of site and replicating content - finally I found the place, where is the link. I was sure, that the link is not in our own website (we don't have such traffic), but something, what is replicated many times.

It was used in default FAQ page template in our product and seems like many merchants didn't changed default FAQ page content. If I count, that e.g. 80% of all merchants running affiliate program with Post Affiliate Pro didn't changed the FAQ template page, than those links are displayed on about 12000 different affiliate program home pages ...

    O great, glad to help.

Maybe you stumbled into a good business model. Make some money with software with a possibility of more with affiliate sales if people don't change the code.

No, I will not try to implement next hidden affiliate links into our software ... what I did in the past was just forgotten experiment, which I don't plan to repeat - I'm happy, that I found it.

Few thousands dollars earned by those affiliate links will not pay the loss in case merchants will get angry on us, that we try to sell through their installations next products....

We try to be fair to our customers and I don't think it would be a way how to earn more money - I think we will stay focussed on quality of product, features and support offered with Post Affiliate Pro

Are you going to advise merchants to change the FAQ page on those 12000 sites?

I would be quite upset to know a developer earned commission on my traffic, without my knowledge.

This also reminds me to check purchased templates for hidden affiliate links - and anyone who used Wordpress or Joomla should do the same,

I'm going to remove them from distribution file and in case any merchant with default template will update PAP to latest version, it will be removed.

As I said, it is not our plan to earn commissions in this way.

Very interesting situation! Nice to see your integrity. Sad to see so many website owners though that don't realize what they are sticking on their sites and how much stuff people are probably adding to their sites that could contain the same stuff but be intentionally placed.

Great reminder to check our sites and stats.

Most interesting thing is, that we have also big red notifications in those templates, that merchants should customize them .... but seems like they don't care so much about texts on affiliate signup pages :-(

This is exactly text I copied from one template:
!! This is sample affiliate signup page. !!
Please modify it to match your own program before use.

So I tried to enter it into Google to see, I will find some affiliate programs with not touched templates: http://www.google.sk/search?sourceid...before+use.%22

Guess what ... I got 155 results of affiliate signup pages, which didn't modified even affiliate signup page ... so why should they modify FAQ page on affiliate signup page (where was our affiliate link) ...

I think, that we all should learn from this:
    1. Vendors should prepare ready to go templates - for lazy merchants, which don't care about texts - shame on us, that we forgot those experimental links inside so long time (even if it really worked and we earned until now more than 10000 USD from those links)
    2. Merchants should read at least once all texts on affiliate signup pages - it is shame, if they invite affiliates into affiliate program through signup page, which they never read

It's like the "about us" page in Wordpress. It only takes 2 minutes to change, it is always wrong as a default, and yet it is all over the place.

Ya you need to assume people will not change it.

Good action on your part though.
