Yet Another BIG Earthquake - Too Near Los Angeles
1/2 hour ago a 6.9 earthquake struck about 110 miles south of Tijuana, Mexico. That is a bit less than 250 miles from LA.

We had light fixtures and fans swinging from the ceiling, chairs and couches moving, and a tidal wave in the pool, but nothing broken and no injuries.

ADD: Now there is a report of a 4.1 earthquake in Sacramento, which is a bit over 400 miles north of LA.

What a shocker! We were threatened with a tsunami a few weeks back but thankfully it turned out to be a mere ripple

Hey Affiliate Hound - I am in Surprise (North West Phoenix) and it was moving things here! My pool was swishing all over the place. Felt like it lasted about 30 seconds or so and was very "rolly"

They never have earthquakes here in AZ! Very odd! I left Calfornia to get away from all of that LOL. There sure are a lot of aftershocks though.

BBB - Funny, I came to CA FOR the earthquakes. (actually, I'm a native).

We haven't felt any aftershocks here, but there have been some pretty big ones.

USGS has upgraded the "Mexicali" earthquake to 7.2.

Glad everyone here seems to be OK, the earthquake tracking maps are glowing red over a lot of CA tonight.

Weird coincidence, here in NY our internet went out and the "kitten" (youngest of our cats) got extremely clingy right before the quake.... Internet came back just in time to see Nickicakes tweet about feeling the quake in Las Vegas. Called Liz and she didn't feel a thing but was on the phone with a friend in San Diego that was quite scared.

The video on CNN on this page http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/americ...ex.html?hpt=T1

The lady says at the end "what's surprise has been why it was so quiet in the last 15 years" and "you should not be surprised of frequent earthquakes here" or something to that effect.

    Good luck to ya Hound...

I was hatched and raised in SoCal ( Barstow, Bellflower, Anaheim, Ventura - Pops was a Marine )

All I can remember about those early years is DisneyLand, the Beach, citrus fruits and jumping under my bed because of freaking earthquakes.....

Good luck to anyone and everyone else affected too ..

It must be weird to feel the ground shaking. We get them in England, but not many, and not very strong. I think I have experienced only 1 in my lifetime, that was actually big enough to feel.
