    WebMerge 2.6 released
WebMerge 2.6 has been released. This is another free upgrade for registered customers, and includes:

    - CSS support has been added to tables. You can now specify CSS classes for the table, row, and cells with the TableClass, RowClass, and Cell class tags, respecively.

    - The new WM-BBCode tag allows you very simple BBCode syntax in your database fields to describe web content.

    - Improved performance of the modulo operator for the WM-If tag.

    - WebMerge now handles pagination of index files more robustly with some combinations of settings.

    - Improved FTP Settings window in both appearance and functionality.

    - Fixed bug in which index number serial numbers weren't padding correctly if the padding options were chosen.

    - Added better error-checking in the Sources tab setting delimiters.

    - Fixed the issue with Mac OS 10.6 ("Snow Leopard") in which double-clicking files would launch the app but not open the document.

    - Various other enhancements and bug fixes. All reproducible issues have been addressed for this release.

If I already have a registration code from a purchase awhile back do i have to repurchase to use the latest one? Only allows the 20 records with my current code.

If your registration code was purchased after April 2003 it should still work in the latest version, but changes in v2.5 may require that you re-enter it. If you've lost your key, or purchased before April 2003, send me an email to webmerge@fourthworld.com and I can get you a replacement key.

I bought 2.4 in 2005 and it upgraded without a hitch to 2.6. The registration migrated without having to re-enter the key.

Glad to hear it, John. We try to keep things as simple as possible for our customers, and in most cases it should work as you describe. In some cases one may need to re-enter the key, but unless they have a really old key that should be the most that's needed to enjoy the free upgrade.

With WebMerge shipping for Windows, OS X, and Linux, we have our hand full with the deployments of the main product. Once we add the ShareASale and Russian Legacy editions to the mix, our three builds for each release explodes to nine -- far too much to manage.

So when we put v2.6 into testing I notified Carolyn and Geno that we would no longer be able to offer a version dedicated for their feeds.

But that left the biggest question on the table: What do we do with the customers currently using the ShareASale and Russian Legacy editions of WebMerge?

We looked at how other companies handle discontinued products like this, sometimes with steep discounts on the upgrade.

And we decided to best them all:

Our loyal customers who've been using the ShareASale and Russian Legacy editions of WebMerge can upgrade to v2.6 at no cost.

    Zero. Nada. Zilch.

Just send me an email to webmerge@fourthworld.com with your current registration code for the ShareASale or Russian Legacy editions of WebMerge and I'll send you a registration code for the full version 2.6.

Like our motto says, "Yep it's that easy."
