Laptop - Desk, Lap, Tray Table, Pet, What?
So I've had a laptop for years and have only used it as a portable DVD player. When I work at home it's at the desktop. So I finally got around to getting a router and such so I can use my laptop wirelessly around the home.

Right now, I just have it on a tray table but am looking for something else, wondering what everybody is using. Is there some cool laptop table, tray out there, portable this or that, desk/chair combo, pads since they get warm etc.

I need a little space since I like using a USB mouse I have hooked up, don't like the little pad.

I thought that I would not like the pad, but now I am used to it, I could never use a USB mouse with my laptop now.

Try using the pad for a few days. I suppose you get used to the pad and adapt.

I agree with Julian. You get used to the touchpad pretty quickly, and also using keyboard shortcuts more.

I have a desktop computer [mine is a WIN XP] and a Scandinavian wooden computer desk that I bought in 1996 and love.

I have an antique rolling chair totally made of wood that my Grandmother bought from her neighbor back in the 1970s -- they don't make chairs like the one I use anymore.

I forget the name of the company I bought the computer desk from but I saw 2 pictures on Google images and if you meld these images together in your mind you'll get a sense of what I use:

Search for a Scandinavian wooden computer desk online & locally -- they are great & last for years

I've tried the touch pad, just don't like it and find I'm quicker with the mouse. Plus, it doesn't take up too much space.

I have a great desk for my desktop but looking for something for my laptop. Looking around some, I guess something with wheels. So I can roll it to the living room, maybe outside next to the pool etc.

One of these should do the trick - http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...p+cart&x=0&y=0

I use a wireless mouse, they make them now with little tiny dongles so they don't get in the way. Vinny uses a coffee table from Staples that lifts to be an over the couch table, I use a table from Ikea for most of the day, then when I need to sit back I use a recliner and the arm of it is wide enough for the mouse to work. When outside I just use my lap and the area on the laptop next the the touch pad for my mouse.

I hate touchpads, lol. Especially when trying to do graphics or select large areas of text in excel or other places. I can use a mouse in a very tiny space if I need to (like on planes).

I got rid of the desk top many many years ago and only use the lap top. Even though it is a lap top, I use it mainly at my desk when I am home. On occasion I take it into the living room and then I just use my lap. If I go outside, then I use the table on the patio.

It took a long time to get used to the mouse pad but now I love it.

I use the laptop as a laptop and the desktop for everything else. If I need a big screen, have graphics to work on, or anything intensive, I go and sit at my desk.

If I'm reading email or ABW, writing a blog post, or doing something more simplistic then I use the laptop, literally on my lap. Since I'm not doing that much, the trackpad works just fine. The only time the laptop is used on a flat surface is when I travel and that is all I have.

Trust this is wwhaat I use when Loxly lets me use the recliner http://www.target.com/Table-Mate-II/..._gwvub_2_title

I have some sliding pads on the bottom so it doesn't mess up the hardwood floor.
