Any idea what this thing might be by your a/c unit?
I know this might not be a home improvement forum but there are lots of smart people around here.

It is located right by the a/c unit in the house. Not sure if it has anything to do with the ac or not.

So if you know, feel free to shout out the answer.

    Thanks.

Check your thermostat to see if it has the same color wire. My guess is that this is the relay controlled by the thermostat that turns the unit on and off.

Looks like a step-down transformer that powers the thermostat. Also looks like a "hatchet job" of an installation.

Looks like a transformer that changes the voltage from 220v to 24v to run the thermostat!

And by the by, they make rubber boots for those things that you can pick up at any electrical supply.

It's only 24v there, but still.......

All rite guys, thanks! You guys are funny - DoorBell!!!!
I am going to press that door bell, one way or another and if I get fried, I can thank my buddies on ABW who knows next to nothing about home improvements.
It is not a place I own.. look at the logistics of owning it.

    Appreciate all your help.
