Google AdWords & Retargeting - the latest couple?
Now that Google will include retargeting with their AdWords campaign, what does this mean for advertisers... and consumers?

Of course, retargeting has been around for a few years now, but it's mostly been under the radar. Is this the next biggest online advertising craze? Any thoughts?

Shoppers determine what has value and they like coupons. Stop manipulating who set the cookie just because you do not like coupon and promotional sites.

Leeann, retargeting is an online marketing strategy that focuses on getting visitors back to your site after they have left without making a purchase. Lets say you visit a clothing website. Perhaps youre looking for shoes, so you click around and maybe even add a pair to your cart then you just decide to click away to another site, and when you do - you the see a banner ad for shoes. The idea is to get you to come back, just after you have left. It can be very effective in providing that extra push to visitors who are already interested in your products or services. If youre interested in learning more, heres an agency that specializes in retargeting.

Have been approached by an affiliate agency that specializes in this. The problem is that they want you to add a pixel to the merchants pages. We don't cross that line so it was a non-starter.

I was on a high traffic site yesterday and saw ads for merchants I had worked on that day.

Chuck, I hear ya... That pixel can help hone in on target markets, but sometimes if it's a no-go, it's a no-go.

Eric, I totally agree. Retargeting isn't going anywhere. It's just going to get bigger and bigger...
