I am picking up a DV burner this weekend. I have a CD-RW and have used CD-R and CD-RW. Can anyone point to some literature that explains DVD-R and DVD+R (DVD-RW, DVD+RW). Not not understanding these formats.

Would love to know a little about the differences before I go and buy media. Anyone use this type of burning? I would appreciate your help!

You can probably find all the information you need at the videohelp.com forums

This is also a good link.

I don't remember the specifics but the conclusion I came to was to burn -R media.
I also buy RitekG04 for about $.73 cents in a spindle of 50. I just handed out about 40 discs to friends/family and everybody seems to be able to play the discs fine. I have the pioneer A06 burner and burn at 4X.

As far as RW goes I have 3 maxell +RW discs. I only use these for my own use to test projects etc..
