Question What banner sizes are more effective?
I am wondering what banner sizes are more popular with publishers? 160x600? 125x125?...

    Thanks for your suggestions!

    Hi YorkTower,

From our experience with publishers, the standard banner sizes are:

    120x60
    120x160
    120x240
    120x600
    160x600
    234x60
    468x60
    728x90
    600x400
    125x125
    300x250
    720x300

It depends on the site you are working with

Here is a best practice and the avg CTR based on a research in 2008. Note, it does not have any logo size, etc

    Size CTR %
    160 x 600 0.14%
    300 x 250 0.37%
    120 x 600 0.18%
    728 x 90 0.27%
    468 x 60 0.10%

Hi Yorktower, it's a good idea to test a couple of different banners on your website to see how they perform against each other. As the guys mentioned above, you'll see the list of the ones that are most common. Just keep in mind, the ones that are working best for others might not work best for you. It's good to test them out to see what will be the top performer for you.

    Cheers,

    160x600
    468x60
    125x125

    120 X 60 OMG thats small.

I would say it is not only what is effective but what fits a space on a site.

Since so many people are going to blogs it is good to have something that fits the sidebar.

    250 X 250 and 300 X 250 you missed.

It depends on your layout. Generally i will say rectangular an skycrapper provide better CTR and the worst size will go to the standard banner
