Adware Now Capable Of Hijacking Google Results

"Adware and spyware have become, next to viruses, some of the more nefarious types of software on the Internet. However, there has been very little word of adware affecting search engine results, until now."

Until we ALL start writing our congressmen and Senators, BEGGING to make legislation against this type of CRAP, we will bounce from one offending issue to another.

We need to ask for the DAMN DEATH PENALTY for any person involved with masking or hijacking tactics.

You may say DAMN SandraR a tad harsh with the death penalty? I say if we ask for the death penalty we can be sure to get 6 months suspended sentence and probation!

I know there are many here that simply do not see grave issue with these tactics, what it comes down to is MANIPULTION. If even one person can enter your home through your computer and force you to view what they want you to view. Where is our freedom of choice or the protection we deserve under the constitution?

It seems like not that very long ago there were the subliminal commercials advertising COKE. Thank goodness crazy people like me fought to get the nonsense stop, yet still to this day people are drinking themselves to death with Coke. I know people right this moment that cannot do without their Litre of COKE!

Thanks for the heads up, Linda.

Sandra, this is being looked at, by more than just a few. It will take some time, but the end is coming for these scumbags.

On a side but related note, my Adsense was hijcaked as well and I was displaying hokey ads instead of Adsense. Found the culrpit has added code to my hosts file. Remove it and Adsense is back to normal. Hope this helps others.

I read somewhere (was it on ABW ?) that service pack 2 for Windows XP is nearing completion and should be released around the end of July.

I can't remember all of the details to be included in the release, but there are new features to make it harder for spammers and spyware.

Yet again, I can't remember the exact details, but I think the hosts file is going to be protected in some way.

What I do know is that the Windows Firewall is going to be switched on by default, if that blocks ads in the same way as Norton, well, that's an awfull lot of users.

What's up with this Canadian browser hijacking wank? With Bill Gates money he could secretly hire asassins to go after anyone -anywhere weeding out the ranks or virus-adware-spyware virus writers. The underground community would get the word out quick when some of their ranks show up in bodybags. Newbees like WEBTHISWEBTHAT.COM would no longer think stealing links and commissions is Kool if forced to drink some Jim Jones cult Coolaid.
