ShareASale RoadShow 2010: The Texas Takeover
That's right Texas... I am excited to announce the ShareASale Roadshow - Texas Style!

I am flying to Houston on July 19th picking up a car (with A/C) and driving city to city in "The Lone Star State" with a car full of goodies. I will be stopping in a number of places would love to meet up with you!

If you are in any of these cities and can help me out by suggesting meeting spots, please let me know.

    Houston - 7/19
    San Antonio - 7/20
    Austin - 7/21
Dallas/Ft. Worth - 7/22 & possibly the 23rd (I hear Dallas is pretty giant, so I may possibly have a Dallas North & Dallas South Meetup)

I will be announcing official locations and times in individual threads soon.

Each of the cities will be super-casual, good times! The meetup is open to anyone that is already part of the ShareASale community or looking to join us. Bring your questions, comments, concerns and even a whiteboard if you want.

PS: Am i required to wear a cowboy hat?

    See ya soon!

I've volunteered to help Jason find a location for Houston. Can't wait!

You don't need to wear a cowboy hat, not everyone in Texas wears cowboy hats, or rides horses.

But everyone does own a gun, apparently.

Ahhh...you folks in the Lone Star State are in for a real treat. The Great Northeast RoadShow last year was a blast. Jill and I thoroughly enjoyed hosting one of the "stops."

We don't wear cowboy hats here either. But we do know how to enjoy traditional Eastern Shore Cooking.

    Enjoy, y'all.

Did you realize that it's further ACROSS TEXAS than it is from Dallas to Chicago?

Looking forward to the combination of Texas hospitality and ShareASale fun!

i think i'm all set in that area... i highly doubt there is a grave that could top Rick James.

    *throwing out the bait*

    sleep... who needs that?! ROADTRIP!!!!!

I have already been issued a formal challenge:

"I think it is a requirement that if you’re going to Texas, you post pictures of yourself in a stetson AND boots for posterity.

Extra points if you do it at the Alamo.

I’ll even buy you a bottle of champagne (my choice and not the cheap stuff) if you manage to get a picture of yourself at the Alamo, wearing a stetson, boots and with a horse. Consider it a challenge
    ."

Challenge accepted.... should be easy to find a horse in Texas.. especially near the Alamo... I bet they keep them in the basement!

Ok Guys, you have to get this right -- The hat is essential, then it is the wranglers (that fit oh so nicely) and then it is the VERY starched button down oxford shirt. And yes, even in 100 degree heat because lets face it no one is ever outside. We go from a/c car to a/c house and that is it.

You know the old saying "Cowboys have more fun"!!

As for 2 meetings in Dallas - you might be better off with one in Ft Worth and one in Dallas. If I can help, don't hesitate to let me know.

I think that's what he meant (or at least what I had suggested). I think most foreigners (i.e. people outside of Texas) just refer to the entire area as "Dallas".

I don't know if he's going to take me up on it, but I offered to have the "Southwest DFW" meeting at my place (about 15 miles SE of Fort Worth). Of course that would mean BBQ!

Just to whet your appetite... We thawed out the last of the 16 pounds of pulled pork that I smoked a few weeks ago and had some awesome sandwiches for dinner last night.

I flew through Memphis a couple times last week and had chopped pork sandwiches at two different Memphis airport restaurants (I know, not the most representative culinary experience), and my pulled pork is MUCH better.

Michael, any chance you could send some of that my way?

    YUM!

(And airports don't count for trying Memphis food - the best stuff can only be found in the holes in the wall type places downtown)
