Watchout! Alphacraze is now reversing almost every order that goes through our account. Most of them they gave the "unqualified lead" reason. Emails to them went unanswered. Now I receive a general email message from them saying that they're discontinuing their program with CJ as of 12-20-02. Now they think they can do whatever they want since they're anyway leaving. I noticed that they just removed all their Amazon links as well.

    Thats very odd.

Also, I hope they arent gonna take the money and run (from customers)

Id be willing to bet that they either sold the site or they are going DOWN...

Or maybe all they are doing is firing Matt because of all the ill will.

No, the Amazon links are still in there on some products.

Although I've sent them 322 very well targeted clicks, I only got one sale ever which was revered for the "Unqualified Lead" BS that some merchants use.

That's a shame that they have to stoop to such poor business practices. I hope you've removed all of their links by now.

Its very odd. The behavior is like rats leaving the sinking ship. I am not surprised, that they reverse every sale, since they discontinue the affiliate program with CJ.

It is money they save and what can the Affiliate do about it? Nothing. Legal Steps? How?

Remove their Links? ... Hey that's what they want alright.

We removed all their 400.000+ product links from our site, the banners and the site itself from our Listsings. The funny thing is, that it will not hurt us very much, because the conversion rate was low anyway.

Alphacraze was looking promising, but they were not. I gues they are going the way of the dodo or got bought by another company.

I think they had a lot of visitors and customers to be interesting for a competitor.

Alpha has been runnning this "scam" for months. Where we send them traffic on a product only for that product to be "sold out" but you can get it from Amazon (complete with THEIR amazon affiliate link).

I, and others, have posted about this behavior months ago. Sort of a low key ebates like switcharoo.

When you look at some of the things in their catalog you have to scratch your head.. they nominally stock a huge range of products including some suprising things, like Cisco kit costing over $80,000 a go (who'd pay for those with a credit card anyway?). Now, I honestly don't believe that they actually stock some of the more specialist stuff anyway, so they must have been dropshipping or something.

Also, it's odd that product description are non-existant, there are never any pictures and the whole site doesn't feel as good as, say, Amazon.

It's almost as if it *is* an super-affiliate site in the same sort of way as Catalog City.. CC's model is pretty straightforward, you get 5%, CC gets whatever else is left, but it would never work with Amazon because of the capped commission, so if you want Amazon links you'll have to list them in the way Alphacraze does.

That's not entirely correct. Amazon has tiered commission. CC can make their money with Amazon because they sould be able to reach the required sales to get 7-8% commission.

Today they reversed what they have left out by mistake last time.

CJ is just letting them do what ever they want.

As I was told by someone else here, those posts were removed because someone was banned. See, it doesnt really pay to edit and censor people. Now everyone gets screwed.

well it's Haiko's board and he can do whatever he likes with it. But I agree, if that's what happened, deleting such a thread doesn't really help anyone.

    but that's his call...

yup, they say censorship is a dangerous thing.

oh well, whats a few bucks to another criminal merchant?

cj didnt listen either, tehy allowed the merchant to stay around. ask cj to give you back your money.

you may also want to pay close attention to what is said about other "certain" merchants as well.
