I can't seem to find any posts here about using a redirect of some sort for moved domains. I am considering this option for moving from a subdomain to the top level. I want to make sure the subdomian pages already indexed are not penalized when we do the move. Any ideas people?

I think a 301 Permanent Redirect is preferred.
