Hope all in Bankok are safe!
Just heard about the escalation of violence in Bankok after Major-General Khattiya Sawasdipol was shot a couple of days ago and increasing threats of revolution.

My prayers for all ABW members safety (and everyone, of course), and for a swift resolution, which doesn't seem likely.

I'm 700 km north in Chiang Mai and there are very few repercussions so far up here. Out of respect for the Thai authorities I don't want to comment publicly on internal political issues. The AMWSO team are based there, I hope everyone is OK.

Yes I was thinking the same thing earlier.

A lot of people in Internet Marketing live in Thailand as it is cheaper than Western countries and with internet work you can live anywhere.

I hope the situation does not get worse. I imagine Non-thai people that live there are thinking about leaving.

Chris (AMWSO) says it is a tiny problem in a tiny area, not nearly as bad as the news is showing. He says everything is "life as usual" for most people.

    Hi All

Up till last night it was pretty contained then after the crack dowm things got a little crazy, pretty much rioting and looting. This morning things are much quieter and people are getting back to work, markets are open, building work continues and shops are generally open.

    Cheers

I hope you stay safe and things get back to normal. I hope that things can be worked out and the country doesn't see this again.

Very quiet today. Nothing new was sparked off that I am aware of, and the coverage on the web is pretty detailed and up to date. Still a curfew running for the next 2-3 days but something I think is necessary in order to make sure everyone has chance to take a deep breath. A fair amount of structural damage that will take some time and cash to fix, but a lot of heart ache and pain that is going to take far more time to heal!

    Cheers
