    This One's for Zeus!
I'm sure Zeus is off enjoying family and holiday time, but had to share this. When we were walking through the Brooklyn Botanical Garden's Cranford Rose Garden Vinny was trying to get me *out* of the garden to get something to eat and I was distracted by a beautiful yellow rose on a trellis. I happen to *love* yellow roses and leaned over to see the name of this one:

So of course I had to stop and take more photos

    Enjoy!

Great photos, Debbie. Of course I wouldn't expect any less from someone claiming "http and a telephoto" for several years.

And I surely didn't know Zeus was a "climber."

I don't think you were a member yet when that tagline was given to me. "Back in the day" we weren't able to change those and Haiko would open it up that he would change them from the typical set lines, and I said I couldn't come up with anything. Well, Haiko came up with that and I liked it and kept it all these years

You're right - because that is the only tag line I ever recall seeing for you. But it was, and still is, quite fitting. You are an accomplished photographer and webmistress - and have been as long as I've known you.

Absolutely gorgeous! I also love yellow roses, well, all flowers actually.

Do you mind sharing what type of camera you have to get those beautiful close-ups.
    Or is it the photographer?

I've been a photographer forever and roses and lilacs (and other flowers) are some of my favorite subjects. I have a site dedicated to them - http://rosesandlilacs.com

We shoot with Sony DSLR, Vinny has the A300 and I have the A500. We have *really* good lenses, which is part of how the images are so stunning. We photographed only a section of the garden and have over 1000 images between us of *just* the roses (just from that one afternoon).

We use a Sony video camera for the videos in the other thread

Thanks for all the information, Deb. My camera is old but up until a few months ago, I could still get decent photos from it. Now it almost always is blurry, like there is a flame-type field over the photo. We have been looking at new cameras and appreciate you sharing what you guys use.

    Thanks again.

It sounds like there is an internal crack in the lens.

I know this is going to make me sound really stupid, but is that something that could be fixed? Or should I say, that is worthwhile fixing?

(...sorry, kind of going off on a tangent here from your original post)

lol, off tangent is fine. I love talking photography. Depending on the camera, no it isn't worth fixing. If it is a camera with a lens built in and it's fairly old, your money will be better spent on a new version.

I still have my Canon A series pro 35mm camera. But I love my Sony's. No more film to develop. The latest lens I bought for the Sony finally eliminated my need for my Canon Macro lens. You can't see the detail in the web pics, but the images in high res and printed are stunning. I love macro photography

I photographed weddings for a living in my "other life" and my photography adorns hotels and doctor's offices, plus I have photos published in a few books. Don't even try to "out gadget" me lol.

One thing I am not humble or shy about is my skills as a photographer. I'm damn good at it, and I teach it pretty good too.

First, I thought the plaque said
RIP, Zeus... I know I'm an old soldier. I had to take my glasses.
Beautiful roses, I didn't know one was named Zeus and I took the time to visit some of the Garden Tours you're selling with Viator.
Keukenhof Gardens, Victoria Butchart Gardens, Monet Gardens...
