    Confused about HTML5?
So what exactly is HTML5 and why would a webmaster/affiliate care?

Here's a very colorful and handy graphic/chart that explains HTML5 in depth:

Uh, okay. Having looked around that chart, I can tell you two things:

    1. In response to your thread title -- RAISES HAND ... I'm confused about HTML5.

    2. I have a headache now.

According to that graph, IE8 doesn't support it. It won't become widespread for years in that case...

Here's an interesting article on Redmond Developer News [written 05/01/2010]:
The next version of the Hypertext Markup Language, HTML 5, will bring true semantic capabilities to Web documents, augmenting their human-readable content with machine-readable data and metadata. Because of this, HTML 5 will affect the day-to-day work of Web developers everywhere.

This author notes the advantage of using semantic markup as he converts an xhtml site to html5:

I manage an IT training school along with my affiliate network and we have already been receiving training materials for html5 in preparation for our advanced web development classes. Very interesting stuff.

Thanks for the graph, though I can agree that it also gave me a bit of a headache lol.
