Thank Goodness for Commission Rate Change Notifications
I just got an email that one particular merchant went from $25 per lead to $0 per lead. It would have been awful to have that happen before the notification system was functioning - especially if you were using paid traffic!

Just a little YAY for the team at Shareasale on implementing this crucial change

I think once you go to a payout of $0, they should go offline at the same time. That merchant isn't paying anything at all, no per sale, no per click, nada?

Don't forget they can modify individual Affiliates, Trust. And I think the notification kicks in even for those small scale changes. SAS would have to confirm that though. I'm not positive.

Any change shoots off a notification. I had one merchant do like four changes within five minutes. I wanted to email them and ask if they got it figured out yet.

AGREED!!! Anytime a merchant makes a DRASTIC change in commission, their account should be suspended automatically subject to review by SaS.

I understand that there may be legitimate reasons for a merchant to lower their commissions, however, when their commission rate drops from $25 to $0 (or from 10% to .01%), they no longer have an affiliate program.

I wonder how many of these slipped through the cracks before SaS implemented their notification system.

Hmmm how timely... 9% -> 0%, just got the e-mail:
This is an automated notification regarding a commission change for the Haircare Discounters ShareASale Affiliate Program.

This merchant has made a change to their default commission rate.

    Previous Per Sale Commission: 9.00%
    New Per Sale Commission: 0.00%
Merchants, any data you provide to Google Shopping should also be in your affiliate network datafeed. More data means more sales!

Rumor has it that they are closing their program at SAS and GAN and Buy.at. We'll see if the rumor holds true...

As an AM I am BIG fan of them because they have always been used to tell affiliates I am RAISING their commissions.

Especially when I am doing them one at a time, I often forget to send an email...this takes the burden off me.

Originally I had some concerns about the bare bones nature of them, but now I am all for them.

    Love it!

BUT, it's not the right way to do it. SaS should do something about that.
