I am considering putting a blog on one of my content sites. I don't want others to be able to post to it - just me. It would be a place where I can chat about new things going on at the site or to direct visitors to pages I want to highlight.

I am a bit *out of it* as far as the blog world is concerned. Is anyone else doing this and how is it working? Any suggestions for setting up a blog? Do you just put the link in the navigation bar?

I currently use Blogger.com - very easy to setup and use. And you can set it so nobody can make comments.

It's a free tool (owned by Google) and I like it, but I'm looking at one of the paid, more robust options out there.

Moveable Type seems to be a favorite of many, and the offer a free version if it's non-commercial.

We've been using Moveable Type for our Savvy Shopper blog in our Mall and it's worked very, very well. We intially gave users the chance to post, but they stayed away in droves, so we just took down the link.

We're going to add a bunch of intertwined blogs throughout the rest of the site (non-shopping specific); we're still evaluating software, but are leaning toward WordPress since that appears to allow more flexibility on feeding multiple blogs with single entries.

I have a blog that is solely for personal use. I use moveable type and am pretty happy with it. MT also has a blacklist plugin to try and help reduce spam comments.
