    Long overdue response!
I realize this a long overdue m the new affiliate manger at the helm. I'd be happy to work with affiliates on abestweb!

Our site, www.perfume.com just got a recent facelift and some great new features are coming on the affliliate side!

Ex. I'll be releasing "special ABW" perfume.com coupon codes shortly!

To answer the question above, we currently have two affiliate programs - one through share-a-sale and the other inhouse! the inhouse pays a higher comission (up to 15% on a graduated revenue tier structure) but you lose the convienence of share-a-sale (if 3rd party management is important to you)

Feel free to email me if you have any questions, want to give feedback or say hello!

    All the best!

    Hello iAMdiscountperfume,

I hope that you have a good sense of humor because I have to post this:

    I just noticed today's date: August 2005

I'm sorry if this sound funny but, I noticed that it takes One Year and One Month betwen those dates.

I'm afraid to join now and then not get pay until September 2006 if that trend continue.

    Acknowledge
Sal (and to the rest of you wondering what planet we've been on),

You are absolutely correct - "long overdue" was an understatement!!! I'm glad you brought it up though - and its definately worth a few chuckles. But as I mentioned, I'm the new affiliate manager here at perfume.com and my theory in situations like these, is that "better late than never" when its your only choice!

Now, moving forward - you'll see I'm responding to your comments 5 days after your post (weekend included) - so hopefully I can make up for perfume's lack of presenece both on ABW and in promoting our affiliate program! I realize I have some work to do!!! My goal is to work with motivated affilaites to ensure the program is a success for everyone involved. I'm new at this, so while I won't claim to be an expert at affiliate marketing - I will promise to answer your questions (and promptly), address your concerns (ex. prompt payment), make myself available and work on the necessary improvements and changes to our program so that in the end - you earn the most amount of $$$$!

There are a lot of new and exciting changes here at www.perfume.com as we just re-launched our site last week and are giving our affiliate program a much needed priority! I'm here to help make that happen. We are starting a new affiliate contest fro ABW memebers in the next few weeks, so stayed tuned!

Feel free to contact me anytime and all the best out there!

I promise we'll be in touch!

Is it hard to sell perfumes online?

Most people want to smell before buying.... or is your "target market" people that already know what they want?

Sal (and to the rest of you wondering what planet we've been on),
I don't care what planet my perfume comes from, as long that its from here or from Mars and I get paid for smelling good, because the fragrance I have been getting from the Moon, is getting me sick already, so I am about to land on another planet.

You are absolutely correct - "long overdue" was an understatement!!! I'm glad you brought it up though - and its definately worth a few chuckles. But as I mentioned, I'm the new affiliate manager here at perfume.com and my theory in situations like these, is that "better late than never" when its your only choice!
I colored the part I liked the most. I agree, (It's better late than never.) but, since you replied sooner that what I was expecting, I will be joining the perfume.com sooner than what I had in mind.

Now, don't you be expecting a lot of clicks from my site this year, OK? (It may or it may not happen.)
Not, because its my fault but, since put my pages on the gutter on their last update, I might not be able to get a new perfume merchant on the SE before the end of the year. But I got something in mind that might work. ..........

BTW, how would you like us to address you?

iAMdiscountperfume, Geoff Marcy, Geoff, Marcy or the just the new perfume.com AM?

    Sal.

    Smell before buying?
The Question: do people want to smell it first before they buy?

The answer is *drum roll*…. YES – generally people want to smell before they buy! Fortunately, perfume is one of the easiest products to sample – remember the last time you walked into a department store? The health/beauty section is always bustling with “product specialists” offering free perfume and cologne samples galore! Magazines ads and mail inserts let you smell the latest J-LO, or Calvin Klein and have you ever asked someone who smells amazing what they are wearing? Bottom Line: Perfume is everywhere and easy to sample!

The Question: is it hard to buy perfume online?

Answer: It's never been easier, and people are discovering this like crazy!!!Perfume is great product to buy online - and once people know what fragrances they want, or have a good idea – they come to us! Those “people” I mentioned is our target market – which just happens to be women who know what they want! (and there are plenty of those). What we offer is the fragrance you’re looking for at up to 70% off retail prices. It’s also very inexpensive to ship and super duper easy to order at www.perfume.com.

What’s both astonishing and exciting to me, is the growth in online sales in this industry – and we are leading the way! A recent Shop.org study of U.S. online retailers projects that online retail sales will grow by 22% to $172.4 billion in 2005, with cosmetics, perfume and other categories aimed at women likely to show the biggest gains.

With our recent re-launch of perfume.com last week – we’ve been experiencing some very positive results. It has only been a week, but initial conversion numbers for the newly launched www.perfume.com look fan-freakin-tasic…

    *Perfume.com Conversion Rates*

    June 2005 Conversion Rate = 3.68%

    Since Site Launch (Aug 2nd 2005) = 5.52%

    Result: a mind blowing~ 50% increase!

The Question: How do I want to be addressed?

How about "Geoff, the perfume guy" or just "Geoff" - choose your fancy!

Hope this was helpful - take care, all the best and thanks for your questions!
