    Hi all,

I'm new here. I am not quite ready to post an intro thread but I do have a question for you seasoned affiliates.

I am looking for good books on affiliate marketing for both sides of the equation, i.e. as a publisher and as an advertiser.

I'm receiving emails on a daily basis for a book from Shawn Collins (Successful Affiliate Marketing for Merchants) which seems interesting. However, it was published in 2001 and I wonder if it's still even remotely relevant to today's market.

    Ty in advance!

Thank you Haiko! I'm already very familiar with usability and marketing in general.

It's really sad that most books are outdated though.

Multiple Streams of Internet Income by Robert Allen... One of the best pieces of material I've read on making money on the Internet. Even though I'm not a fan of Robert Allen.

Highly recommended, it will open your eyes and teach you a lot.

Probably the best book for affiliates would be one on consumer behavior/marketing.

Any book on affiliate marketing is basically outdated by the time it is published. Go to active forums like ABW for most up to date information. And for basic affiliate marketing, the books on design and usability will always be the best place to start. For a merchant site AND a publisher site.

    I just found a great book, second-hand.

'The Design of Sites - Patterns, Principles, and Processes for Crafting a Customer-Centered Web Experience'

by Douglas K. Van Duyne, James A. Landay, and Jason I. Hong

    Published by Addison-Wesley
    ISBN 0-201-72149-X

It's a couple of years old - don't know if it's still available or has been updated, but I'm reading it with a deepening sense of awe.
