What is exactly the commission rate for coupon/deal sites?
People here were mentioning 1%. I am still seeing 4% (higher if meeting sales thresholds) for our coupon/deal site. What is really Amazon's commission policy on this?

There commission rate is based upon how many sales you provide in a given month. Each month you are reset at I think 4% and the more sales you provide the bigger increase in commission you get.

My gut feeling is that you have to be a fairly successful coupon/deal site for them to take notice and put you in the lower commission threshold. I assume that each time the drop the commission the communication with the affiliate is a pain to deal with. They probably are not going to bother jacking down your commission if your only driving a few thousand in sales a month.

the commission policy is usually flexible as per different Merchants and different coupon sites. top Coupon site wont bother if your product is least saleable and you are offering 1-4% commission.

As per my experiance, i have set different commission levels (as per discounts i am offering to my coupon affiliates) you must know there is a product cost involve so i need to manage both customer and affiliate benifit. Also i need to have an intense eye on coupon's sale and usage.

most usual Merchants who offer coupons reduce the Affiliate commission less than 20% to 50%.....

It sounds very discouraging to promote Amazon. The more you help them sell, the higher risk they drop your commission like nuts.

If Amazon drops your commission to 0.25%, is it possible to get it back to the normal 4% rate? I am very concerned when I am trying to promote Amazon further.
