I am planning to use them. Any of you have experiences with this tool?. Does it help to increase your repeat visitors?.

    Thx

I don't know about using it as a customer, but their program will increase the amount of SPAM in your inbox exponentially if you become their affiliate!

Annoying little program. If people want to see your site icon cluttering up their desktop, let THEM put it there.

I agree with Leader on the spam issue, too. It's not worth it. There are other things you can do to encourage visitors to return to your site.

I purchased the annual program and received so many complaints I finally gave up on it and did not renew the license.

    Most people:

    Thought it was parasiteware/spyware
    They hated that it pop-uped
They freaked when something downloaded on there system.

Yeah there's enough stuff out there to piss people off without doing it on purpose.

Yep. A "Click Here to Bookmark This Page" is probably the best approach.

Thx for your inputs. How about creating an "Add to Desktop" script that will add only one shortcut on visitor's desktop instead of 6 offered by see you again.

Upon clickcing this shortcut, people will be brought to my site on a new broswer window. No pop-up, no forced search , only one shortcut on desktop. Do you think this will increase repeat visitors?.

I think it would - if you find the script let me know I want one to

SIX!?! Sheesh, that's even worse than I remembered!

That guy who runs that place *really, really* wants to spam everything that moves. He must be mental!

Another alternative is to create a "favicon.ico" 16x16 pixel image.

Leave instructions for the visitors of the website to then drag the website icon (the one in the address bar, in IE) to their desktop. This will instantly provide a shortcut on their desktop to your site.

I can't even stand seeing that name in the title of this thread - it doesn't bring back very good memories.

What it does bring back is the literal years of demanding that I be removed from the spam list (was it not Paul Burke?). One email account I gave up and closed down just to get rid of this jerk.

If I visited a site who put a see you again short cut on my desktop not only would I never go there again but they'd get such a nasty email from me it wouldn't be funny!

Yes, it is still Paul Burke and his massive spamming tactics.
