Hi, I am wondering if one of the main reasons affiliates prefer networks over indies is the simplicity of having one login location for multiple programs? Is that a major factor or just a minor one in the scheme of things?

Minor. Networks basically make it easier to find programs. I don't care about logging in to check stats. I do like consolidated payments, but if only one or two merchants are making the money, that doesn't matter either.

I look for and use indies if they fit my traffic. Indies are where I make the most income. CJ is trying to catch up, but only one or two merchants are moving for me there. So if they went indie, I would follow them.

As a matter of fact, there are two merchants in particular that are on CJ and have indie programs and I choose to use the indie programs.

So the bottom line is, I look for the *merchants* I want and sign up for them whether they are network or not.

Given a choice, I'd rather have to log in separately to dozens of indie programs knowing they are ethically run and parasite free then enjoy one-stop shopping at a parasite-apologist network.

Ease of checking stats is down the list of things.

It is hard to keep track of payment from indies.

    - confirm they did send out the check
    - make sure no postal error
    - get sick for merchants using incorrect payee name, imcomplete address
    - high check min.

In the end, there is still "large leakage" from my total earnings, and there is increase admin. effort for many checks.

Some of my earning is either
    going to Parasites or
lost due to check mistakes and postal error.
