    Linkshare reporting server is down?
I have been trying to access the server but i keep getting this error.

*REPORTING ERROR: Our reporting servers are currently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience, please try again later.*

Here is the link that i am using for it.

    Code:
    $returned = get_web_url('http://cli.linksynergy.com/cli/publisher/reports/downloadReport.php?bdate='20100101'&edate='20100707'&cuserid='.urlencode('xxxx').'&cpi='.urlencode('xxxx').'&eid=xxxx');
With the result of $returned i am adding the points to the customers on my site. But I am not getting anything at all in return except this error.

I have been getting this for over a week now? Why is this problem arising?

    Hi scorpio22,

I know this was happening late last week for some publishers using the Signature Orders Web Services. When was the last time you got that error message?

I still get this error and I was getting this error since a week now. I did not try before that though.

So is it a problem with the reporting server, if so when will this be rectified? We are unable to use the 'rewarding points' functionality because of this error.

And i would also like to if this is the correct syntax and url for this webservice?

    Scorpio22,

I cannot help you with your code/scripts but I can help you with the actual url syntax.

Below is the syntax that is needed.:

    URL Syntax:
    Code:
    http://cli.linksynergy.com/cli/publisher/reports/downloadReport.php?bdate=YYYYMMDD&edate=YYYYMMDD&cuserid=username&cpi=password&eid=sitecode&nid=networkid
Let me know if you have any questions.

Also have you asked Publisher Support for help?

    scorpio22,

Our servers are not down right now/nor have they been all day. I want to test it on our end. Can you please submit a support ticket using the URL syntax and we can look into it from there?

I actually know the cause of this, because I too had the same problem. Linkshare's signature report api has a couple of parameters that were optional, but now are required.

Once I added the "nid" and "eid" parameters, the reporting api started to work again.

Its giving a bogus "Reporting Service not available" message, when in fact it is a "API Parameter Missing" error.
Merchants, any data you provide to Google Shopping should also be in your affiliate network datafeed. More data means more sales!

Thanks for your reply isellstuff. This is the exact code i am using right now.

    Code:
    http://cli.linksynergy.com/cli/publisher/reports/downloadReport.php?bdate='.$get_report_for.'&edate='.$currentdate.'&cuserid='.urlencode('xxx').'&cpi='.urlencode('xxx').'&eid=xxx0&nid=3
ofcourse nid is 3 for usa. But i am getting the same error. Would you be able to post a copy of your code, after removing all the confidential code from it?
I do not know why i am getting this error. Even if i just enter this url in the browser i am getting this error.

Could it be because of a wrong password or expired username/password/sitecode? Because i am using the username/passcode and sitecode that was used 2 yrs from now.

Ranae, I have no doubt there is a bug somewhere in the reporting, as mine started to fail regularly as well. I just seem to have found a work-a-round.

Sometimes I feel as though LinkShare load balances replicated reporting servers and that the load balancing and database synchronization mechanism is super buggy.... Just my opinion...

Could this be a possibility of wrong username/password/sitecode combination?
What would be the error if wrong credentials are entered?
How can i find my these values for my site?

    isellstuff,

I agree that there were some issues mid to late last week but I believe all of the issues were fixed. If there are any specific things broken with this report we want to look into it and fix it so if you do see anything broken please let us know.

The nid and eid should be optional again.

As for the load balancing - I will forward your comments onto our tech team to look into it.

frudaldude, you need to check the values you are passing for cuserid, cpi, nid and eid... nid does not matter, but eid does. I found out my eid and changed it and it started working. I was given the wrond eid in the first place and had so many problems bcoz of that. So please re-check all the values with your account owner.

You can also send the whole url with username and password and eid to linkshare customer care and they will help you with resolving the problem. Try that.

*sigh* noticed I had some bad format tag: val dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyyMMDD") instead of val dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyyMMDD")

which formatted a date in the format: 201008224

as soon as I fixed the date formatting it worked fine.

NOT a very descriptive error message!

Isn't this control character weird before the Member ID Column Header (<U+FEFF>Member ID)? Its throwing off my CSV reader because I can't reference columns by the header name row("Member ID"):

Looking up the character its: Unicode Character 'ZERO WIDTH NO-BREAK SPACE' (U+FEFF)

    Steps:
    curl -o test.txt "http://cli.linksynergy.com/cli/publisher/reports/downloadReport.php?bdate=20100801&edate=20100815&cuserid=&cpi=&eid=&nid=1"

    less test.txt

<U+FEFF>Member ID Merchant ID Merchant Name Order ID Transaction Date Transaction Time SKU Number Sales($) Quantity Commissions($) Process Date Process
    Time

    Thoughts?

Aack, looks like it some sort of encoding mark (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte_order_mark)

I had to write a wrapper to read the encoding mark but it looks to be working now.

    frugaldude,

That is strange, I just tested it with a publisher username and password and I do not see that in front of it it when I open it as a txt file or as an excel file.
