Am I the only one awake?
Am I the only person who woke up at 3am to see the Perseus meteor shower?

The middle of the dark desert at night is scary as hec

But it was a cool show!!!

Most were the size of normal stars - like dots in the sky - but one was like the size of the moon. Seeing THAT one streak across the sky was amazing!

You all have another chance tonight

    All My Best,
    Billy

Kewl. I will look out tonight with my son.

We did that a few years back on the back porch.

Awww, man, I only wish. As an amateur astronomer from "way back" I am aware of the Perseids and have seen the display in the past. If we were at the beach (with dark skies in our neighborhood) it would have been quite a show. But, unfortunately, we are in Baltimore with "light pollution" and cloudy skies.

For those of you with clear and dark skies (desert skies are wonderful, Billy) - enjoy the show!

I meant to stay up last night to watch, but conked out early.
I have tomorrow off at the day j*b, so maybe tonight. I've seen some pretty awesome "shooting stars" in my day, including one big fireball that lasted about 7-8 seconds.

Not much light pollution here, so it should be a good show.

Too much light here, sometimes I do miss the desert

Seeing shooting stars actually hasn't bode well for me in the past.... so just as ok to skip them.

I am pretty sure I was one of the few who was up at 4am due to a phone call from my mother-in-law though

Dang it...that was 3 your time Billy. I might as well have watched the meteors!

Fiddlesticks! It turned out to be cloudy tonight here in MA, so no light show here after all.

Clouds moved in here too but we'll go back out and check after awhile. We're only at 10 so far but having a good time until the clouds rolled in.

Stormy here in central Maryland. Tornado warnings and flooding; the light pollution was not the problem. The only "streaks" we could see in they sky were streaks of lightning.

It cleared off for awhile but after another hour or so the clouds came back and brought lightening
