Talking Kim Kardashian & Business Cards?
Does this look a bit odd to anyone else?

    Kim's Twitter Feed:
Craaaaazzzyy good deal 4 my fans! 250 free business cards @ www *dot* vistaprint *dot* com/kim
12:59 PM Aug 30th via web
Kim Kardashian the super affiliate in the making

    ----

I "Publisher Expired" Vistaprint in Jan when they pushed out new Anti-Social Media rules, I guess Celebs get a free pass at that ...

She got paid $10k upfront. There has been a lot of backlash on Twitter about it because it wasn't labeled an ad. She has been recommending other brands that she gets paid for also. Many folks are hoping the FTC gets on her case ASAP.

Would you think it would be ok if she was to add at the end of the tweet " by using my affiliate link! "

    Would that cover disclosure?

This may be where our world of marketing and regular celebrity endorsements finally start to collide in the eyes of the FTC. You have to wonder how many celebrities mention that they are wearing a certain designer and love their stuff but are getting paid to say it. I'm sure it's pretty often and I have never heard them give a disclosure of any kind. But if they say it on Twitter or Facebook, does that change it?

Pretty much. Any ads on Twitter are being labeled with #ad or (ad) or something like that. Whether it legally covers disclosure I don't know. Time will tell.

May not be that "craaaaazzzyy" of a deal for her fans, since I think they offer the same to everyone.

But yeah, celebs will definitely start to lose "brand equity" by blasting out random sponsored tweets. Makes them look like sellouts.

Yeah, I get about 10 SPAMS a day with this same offer.

They'll also start to lose credibility with offers like this. Vista Print is the biggest identify whore I've seen, apparently they sell their customer's data to anyone and everyone. A friend recently ordered cards from them for a new business and she's already getting SPAM, junk mail and calls from telemarketers and the only place that this information could have come from is Vista Print.
