I just put an item that sells for $65 on the merchant site that is exactly the same in every respect to the same item I bought at Big Lots for $20! And, that doesn't even count S&H!

Probably, some fool will buy it.

    Absolutely nuts IMO.

I ought to just buy stuff at big lots and sell it on the net for more than three times what it is really worth except that I am too lazy.

    This is insanity.

Why don't people get off their duffs and go to the stores? It might take an hour to shop but they would save $45. $45 an hour ain't bad pay in my book. Cripes, they could even call the store first to be sure they have the item. What is wrong with people, anyway?

Well, hey, as long as I get my cut of their foolishness, why worry, right?

well, that's kept the jewelry business going for years, except their markup is actually higher. but we're not supposed to know that.

    and I won't tell if you won't.

Once I purchased 1000 signal boosters for cell phones. Those stickers that go under the battery. I bought it on ebay for 20 dollars.

Sold them for 10 bucks each on the streets of NY. Took me about a week to unload them all.

It's an extreme example. There are many cases where goods online cost less than in bricks'n'mortar stores.
Not everyone lives near a store that carries what you want.
What if a person's time is worth $500 per hour - buying online saves time...

    And...and...and...

    Shhhhh.....

    I won't tell anyone if you don't

The people who pay full retail would never go into a Big Lots, and they have no clue at all that it's the same stuff. And, if there was no Internet, they still wouldn't go into a Big Lots. They'd just pay the 3x more at some "upscale" department store instead.
