    Hi, everyone...

One of the programs I joined has this little blurb in their program details:

    <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>

    Q: Can I refer myself?

A: Absolutely! Sign up for your own, and we will pay you a full commission on your own referral.

    <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

So, now I'm wondering... Is there a list somewhere that details:

    1. Which merchants/advertisers pay commissions to affiliates for their own purchases?

    2. Which merchants/advertisers are willing to work with affiliates that run incentive/cash-back/reward programs?

    3. Which merchants/advertisers allow affiliates to pass savings to their customers, by giving up a portion of their own commissions?

If there isn't a list, would anyone be interested in putting one together?

I know there are MANY factors and decision criteria, so to keep things simple, but let's assume we're only talking about "Pay-Per-Sale" commissions, at this point.

In other words, let's exclude merchants/advertisers who pay for clicks, impressions, leads, etc.

Thanks for all your input, I appreciate it very much..!

Some retailers have a high pay out, or longer pay (over $50 in commission or quarterly) just so they are not paying rebates on purchases.

High $ per order retailers generally have higer threshold on payout.

Okay, that makes sense. Higher threshholds and longer pay cycles can be used to discourage individuals from signing up as "affiliates" to save money on their own purchases.

That leads me to a couple of new questions:

    1. If I am a strong, revenue-generating affiliate, is it acceptable for me to buy from myself?

    2. To each of you who produce lots of referral traffic, do you buy from yourselves?

    On another note...

I don't mean to clutter up the forums with irrelevant topics/threads. If this is the wrong place for these types of topics, please let me know, and I'll stop immediately.

    Thanks for your time..!

I never sign up just to buy from myself - but when I need something I do buy from my own links and also from other affiliates as well.
