if you go into your cj acount pick a merchant you are approved for.. go to links.. look at their highest paying EPC... TEXT and BANNER links.. most of the ones up the top are one that Show that merchants URL address... in BOLD>>>......
the ones that are lower are the ones that dont have the url address in the link or banner..but maybe just a product phrase...
I feel its a trick to make you place there link on their with their description/URL so that possibly visiotrs will NOT click through but will just TYPE the url into their browser address bar.. ie. SKIPPING U the affiliate!!!
more bastard tricks of merchants!!!

No, they are listed first because they have the highest EPC.
There's a very good reason why they have a higher EPC. They're text links. Text links usually generate better response than banners. Most affiliates don't use the text that the merchant provides.
Unless it's something very short and simple (like buy.com or ebay.com), very few people will just type in the URL. It's far simpler to just click through, and that's what most people do.
If the merchants are just bastards, out to trick you, perhaps you shouldn't work with any of them. Get a job instead.
