Who really cracks you up ?
I came across an hilarious thread on another forum to do with who is your favourite comedian, and thought it would make a good thread for this site.

I'm a major fan of Kevin Hart, and you can see an excellent clip of his act here:

I like Josh Blue, he's a comedian that has cerebral palsy and not only does he poke fun at himself, he pokes fun of people who poke fun at him! His routine about taking a shower had me rolling on the floor.

    What's life without laughter?

I'm a big fan of these comedians' stand up acts.

-Ellen Degeneres - her 1992 "Taste This" stand up is my fave
-Tom Papa - sample here: YouTube - Tom Papa Stand Up (he's the host on The Marriage Ref but his own stand up is so much better)

2 of my fave Canadian Comedians (gotta represent, I'm from Canada!)
    -Russell Peters
    -Jeremy Hotz

Look them up - their shows crack me up!

I'm very "Old School" -- Jonathan Winters.

The link is to a very "scratchy" poor quality video from the old OLD version of The Tonight Show when it was hosted by Jack Paar.

Notice, if you don't know Winters' stuff, two things:

    1. The man is an improvisational genius.
    2. Robin Williams pretty much learned everything he knows about comedy from Winters.

I forgot about Izzard! I love him... did you see him in the Riches? I don't know what happened to that show! I was really enjoying it then it just went poof one day; didn't see it anymore after that.

I did see Eddy in that show, Liz. It's the only reason I watched it. Other than his performance I wasn't all that impressed.

Robin Williams is without a doubt the funniest comedian that I've ever seen. While attending a live show in Chicago several years ago I laughed so hard and so long that I was almost ill. From the moment that he walked onto the stage until he left, you laughed. Audience members had to leave the show to go to the lobby to catch their breath.

Robin Williams is great! He was on "The Actors Studio" hosted by James Lipton one time, it was a great 30 minute comedy improv. Lipton got around to asking like 3 questions. I just wish he (and some of the other great comics) would drop all the political crap and just entertain people.

Dave Chappelle for me. It might be too raunchy for some but his stuff is soooo true.

OMG! How could I forget?! One of my absolute fave skits of ALL time - Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories with Rick James. I die laughing EVERY time I watch it.... it never gets old for me.

I second George Carlin too - tres funny. And Jeff Foxworthy. Also a good laugh.

Matt!!!! Remind me to smack you when I see you next!!!

Believe it or not, we have electricity and cable tv in our igloos now too.... only since 1998 but still!!

*ahem* Might I say.... most of "America's funniest people", are Canadian!

    To name but a few:
...John Candy, Jim Carrey, Mike Myers, Dan Aykroyd, Martin Short, Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin (and the whole cast of the "original" SCTV which originated here in Toronto - if you're old enough to remember it), Brent Butt and the whole cast of Corner Gas, Tommy Chong (yea I said it), Dave Foley of Kids in the Hall (also all Canadian), Caroline Rhea, Michael J. Fox, Tom Green (ok so funny is relative - he's actually performing live stand up here this month), Norm Macdonald, Howie Mandel (I'm not a fan but apparently he's funny), Rick Mercer, Colin Mochrie (who's line is it anyway??), Leslie Nielsen, Lorne Michaels (yes, legendary SNL producer), Seth freakin' Rogan, and let's not forget, Terrance and Phillip of South Park. And many more.

    ...Just sayin'.

    Talking
    I have two.

Danny McBride from Eastbound and Down. His dry and matter of fact delivery gets me. The other is Louis C.K. because of interesting insight at life and his lack of fear on subject matter.
