Question Does a website get SEO value from blogs hosted by sites like wordpress & blogspot?
I'm trading blog posts w/ some people I know for link juice, but some of these blogs are hosted by wordpress, blogspot, etc. I don't see "no follow" code on the blogs, but am concerned about the backlink value.

Is it worth getting a link from a blog hosted by one of these sites, or not so much? Is it any different than getting a backlink from a blog hosted independently?

My guess is they offer SEO value just like any other site, but I've got this nagging feeling... maybe not. Just don't want to waste time w/ them if the SEO's not there.

Sure it can. If you get a link from say lorelle.wordpress.com/ (who i read and am not affiliated with but has great wordpress tips for those who are interested), they are a PR6 homepage. If they for some reason link to your site, that would give you a great SEO benefit
