4. Get paid!

Generally, we'll send your accrued commissions on a quarterly basis.

Amounts under $100 will be held until the total accrual reaches $100 or until December 31. On December 31, amounts under $100 will be deleted and will not be carried forward to the next year. Amounts held do not accrue interest or earnings.

Is this a new trend in Affiliate Marketing or are they behind the times? Should we point them to ABW?

Perhaps someone here works with them already.

(( disclaimer not affiliated (associated) with them, just found by accident on search for hardware tools sites ))

Heh, I noticed them a couple years ago, same program terms. Pretty sorrowful, isn't it?

I ran into one program that charged a fee so I sent them an email wishing them luck in finding affiliates! Then of course there are all the scams that give affiliate marketing a bad name by bilking people of hundreds or more setting them up with a useless subdomain containing a few cheap overpriced items, with the promise of getting rich quick.

Ok, where in the Guinness World Records book are they listed, if they show me the page #, I might join their program today.

Actually they are a great merchant. You know sometimes you actually have to try things out to see how they actually are.

I agree Trust, I have no problems with them if they are actually paying you and connie and other affiliates on time etc.

I believe strongly in Indie programs too, not just always rely on networks.

But isn't the 100.00 every three months and December 31 rules kind of steep.

It all depends on what do you meant by that.

If it have anything to do with (well... you know what.) forget it man, I don't have to try those things but, go ahead you keep on trying, one day you might find it in a dark room.

A few may do well with them, but this clause is just *too much* for me to lay my chips on this merchant's tables.

Sounds very anti-affiliate to me. It shows they really don't want to pay affiliates, they just want the traffic and sales. Any rule or policy they can create to get out of paying works for them.

I've always wondered about terms such as this, is it really legal? Can I tell my phone company that will not write them a check until I owe them at least $100.00, and, if on December 31, I do not owe them that much I will not roll over their balance to the next year?

A hardware store co-op warehouse distributor. Nothing they offer doesn't come cheaper at Home Depot. Worthless program with those terms looking like they were made up in 1998.

They convert better than a certain supspender program. The clause needs to be changed but they do pay all commissions owed even if you make under $100. It's a good program. I've found a few products they sell that don't have too much competition, takes a little digging

Signing their agreement and accepting their terms very likely makes it legal (I don't know of any statutes that prevent a minimum annual threshold as part of a structured comm / comp plan).

Good luck getting your phone company to accept those terms... like us ABW'ers, they don't seriously consider offered terms like that.

In this case it says:
(1) we have so many folks who fail, that we've planned for it - and we've figured out a way to make it benefit us as well
(2) we're inefficient and small cuz we can't afford to process an outbound check that's under $100
(3) We don't want any affiliates to sign up in the 4th quarter of any calendar year cuz we hate Christmas selling season
(4) We're stingy and feel the money you've made us is ours - we'll reluctantly give you a cut, but only on our terms
(5) We only run with the big dogs - so if you're small now, once you get big, remember we treated you like nothing as a pup
(6) We've automated our sign-up process and we'll let anyone in - we're too busy to know our affiliates and too busy to set any real criteria or review process - instead, our criteria is to steal from you if you don't produce enough
(7) Since we treat our affiliates like this, you should be able to guess that we similarly provide no support for any individual customers you refer to us - especially if they spent less than enough to make us a profit of < $100 - they're just not worth our time or the expense of our automated systems either

There's more they're telling you, but they've said enough...
